Five days of showing Heaven's Hills dogs brought some impressive results for Shine and Gracie, who between the two of them earned six Q's, four first places and three titles. Shine got her agility Excellent title with the only Q in the class and

Gracie finished off both novice titles in standard and jumpers and now has some Q's in open to boot. They both are looking forward to the January 12 and 13 trial in Zephyrhills where we plan to bring 'em wired and take 'em home tired. |
The Manatee Agility trial last weekend brought Heaven’s Hills students, Bob, Lora and Katie one step closer to their goals.
High-Q 4H members Katie and Lora, in excellent and novice respectively, were working out the kinks and fine tuning those pesky ring issues like timing your warm up and prep to suit the dog’s mood and waiting for those paws to fully commit to the air before you que for the next direction. These are all things that are predicated on learning to read your dog while showing in the agility ring and the only way to learn how to do that is to get into the ring

and figure out what works under those kind of conditions and what doesn’t. Both these girls had very successful diagnostic runs and they are makin’ their lists (of what does and doesn’t work) and in three more weeks they’ll be checkin’ it twice when the go back to Manatee for the 5 day show.
Bob and Gracie brought home Q’s in both novice jumpers and standard after they worked out a few kinks of their own on Saturday. All in all everybody went home armed with new information, skills, and determination and THAT makes for a very successful show. I’m so very proud of you all, way to handle! |

Not only did our first timers have a lot of fun but they Q’d…a lot…and placed…really high!
Saturday’s Novice A STD and JWW 20” belonged to Heaven’s Hills' very own Bob and Kaylie, with Bob taking 1st in STD and Kaylie taking 1st in JWW. On Sunday Kaylie took 1st in STD giving her and Trooper their first Nov A leg. However, the day wasn’t over yet as we watched Bob and Kaylie, sweep 1st and 2nd places respectively, in the Nov A JWW class. Fabulous.
As for our little Junior handler, Katie, she and Shine ran for a perfect score of 100 in EXC A JWW giving them 2nd place and their first leg. Way to go.
Have I mentioned how very proud I am of these people? Not just because they Q consistently, but because of their attitude toward their dogs and toward showing…they love to have fun with their dogs, and they love to show, but mostly they love to have fun with their dogs at a show.
I am so very proud of you guys, awesome job! Keep it up, Manatee is in a month and I can’t wait to see what you can do. |

Tampa’s obedience trial was very productive for our Junior handler Katie who, in addition to earning her first perfect score of 100 in rally excellent B, also took first place in a class of 18 which is no small feat! This young team took home RAE legs numbers 5 and 6….EXCELLENT! And yes, Bob and Gracie showed on Saturday for their “insurance” leg in rally advanced and took 1 st place and then promptly announced their retirement from the rally and obedience rings sighting the need to do all things fun, fast and free in the agility ring forever more, which is where you can see them next weekend in Zephyrhills at the IPOC agility trial along with the rest of our gang. See you there! |

The IPOC Obedience Trial was a great success for Heaven’s Hills
in spite of the fact that we only sent two students.
|
Saturday’s kudos went to Sherri and Chelsea earning their first RAE leg with a score of 94 and then with Izzy, a 7 month old puppy, earning her RN title with a score of 95!
Bob and Gracie, however, were not to be outdone and took 1 st place in advanced rally. On Sunday Sherri and Izzie moved up to advanced rally and that puppy Q’d with a score of 96! Bob and Gracie took 4th place in advanced rally and brought home a title ribbon to boot. |

Congratulations guys on a job well done. I’m so proud!

The Deland Obedience Trial went very well for Heaven's Hills last weekend and I am so proud of you all. Both Kaylie and Karen earned their first titles in Rally Novice on Saturday and moved up to Rally Advanced on Sunday and Q'd for a first leg there! Taking that leash off is a big step and you two met the challenge, way to go!
Kaylie also entered Novice Obedience for the first time and would have Q'd if her voice would've been loud enough to rise above the clamor of folding chairs. But the good news is...that's an easy fix and we can train for that and be ready next time.
Kassidee was the belle of the ball, earning 2nd place in Pre-Novice on Saturday, and 1st place in |
Pre-Novice on Sunday, beating 4-H dog obedience instructor June Lyness in the process too, I might add! Kudos Squirt!
Katie's four Rally Q's earned her two legs toward her RAE title and she was so close to an Open Q she could taste it but alas, the Open Ring was a great opportunity to trouble shoot for the next trial (which I believe is in St. Pete in August).
We had a lot of fun and are grateful to our Support Crew (Mouseover for photo). You guys did a great job and I'm so proud of you all!
Congratulations Again! |
